Cancel the Baby Sitter, If You Want To

by Morgan Fraga Pierson

Key West is known for many things: picturesque sunsets, unparalleled fishing and diving, a myriad of diversely delicious eateries, bars, saloons, clubs, pubs and of course, SO. MANY. EVENTS.
It seems like every weekend from October to May (and by May we're talking mid-July) there is something going on. From bar crawls to concerts to wine dinners to art shows to festival after festival, if you're bored in Key West, you're just not trying!
Most of these events are catered to the locals and tourists that have survived the grueling hangover of their twenty-first birthday. What interest does a kid have in an art gallery or wine pairings? A Disney-themed bar crawl may sound intriguing to the little ones but alas, another event for the grown ups.
Precious are the few events that have a bouncy castle and a rock climbing wall to entertain the youth while the grown ups enjoy their libations at the beer tent.
The Zombie Bike Ride has always aimed to be a family-friendly event. Face painting + bike riding + costumes + zombies ... sounds like a kid's dream come true! We love baby zombies, toddler zombies, pre-teen zombies, zombies of all ages! So, cancel the baby sitter (and the dog walker - we also love dog zombies) and join us at the ride!
